Daedelus: then & now

I found my cat, Daedelus, on the Victoria SPCA website 2 and a half years ago. He was having trouble adjusting to life in a cage. I had been checking the site for a long time but when I saw those sad eyes, I knew I had to bring him home! There have been challenges but they have all been worth it to see that concerned look replaced with one of contentment.
I still keep up-to-date with all of the pet adoption sites I can find and I think it's the best way to reach a lot of people! I hope everyone considers adopting stray and unwanted pets because their days of providing joy and unconditional friendship and love are never over.

Abbey's 'Welcome Home Celebration'

This is a picture of Abbey taken on her second day in her new home.
We recently lost Tasha our German Shepherd Lab to cancer. She was 13 years old and very much a part of the family. Both our dog and cat grew up together. Our cat is an 8-year-old tabby. Our loss not only affected our family but our cat as well.
On November 12th, 2004, we adopted Abbey a Black Lab mix through Adopt-A-Dog-Save-A-Life" ..... Fortunately we found a dog who grew up with cats. She is 7 years old but has a lot of energy. She gets really excited when we come home and loves going on walks.
It was an adjustment for our cat but he no longer hisses or arches his back. He keeps a close eye on Abbey though.

WINNER of our Best Picture CONTEST in May!

Saber Tooth is only two years old!I adopted my Irish Wolfhound through the internet. His name is Saber Tooth and he's almost two years old. He was still a puppy when he was rescued. I found him through www.petfinder.com. Someone had dumped him at a pound and when nobody wanted to adopt him, he was on "death row". A rescue volunteer got him out of there in hopes of finding him a home. That home ended up to be mine! He's a wonderful, happy, grateful dog and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Please consider a rescued dog. They are so rewarding to have!
